Ready Set Blow Podcast

The Ready Set Blow Podcast, hosted by Randy Valerio, is brought to you weekly each and every Wednesday. Randy is an LA-based comedian originally hailing from the streets of Queens, NY. In 2016, after having spent over a decade on Wall Street working in high finance, investment banking, and private equity, Randy decided he was tired of being able to pay his bills on time and jumped head-first into stand up comedy. Every week he sits down on the podcast and chops it up with friends and guests from all walks of life, including comedy, music, entertainment, academia, business and even politics. He and his guests discuss their lives, daily experiences, current events, and other random silliness. Randy has a knack for drawing out honest, raw, self-examined, irreverent, funny and always entertaining conversations with his guests. He is not afraid to ask deeply personal and sometimes borderline inappropriate questions. And, of course, he always seems to find a topic to get on his soap box and rant about. You can email the show at rsbpodcast@gmail.com for inquires, sponsorship, or just to drop a note or share a thought. A special crossover episode with comedians Corey Rodrigues and Orlando Baxter from the 30 Jobs Later podcast! The guys open the show discussing the big Celtics game 7 win. The gang moves on to Chase's strange eating requirements - you CANNOT have 2 green vegetables on your plate. Finally a long conversation on the comedy game ensues. Randy gets a shitload of free advice from 2 of the best comics in Boston (in Randy's opinion)

Randy congratulates Chase on achieving a major milestone in life...he finally got cable TV. The guys start talking about business travel and Randy absolutely loses his mind over the recent rash of passengers getting physically removed from “oversold” flights. After Randy calmed down, Chase brought up the reports of the horrible things Adam Jones was called during a recent game at Fenway Park. Chase and Randy move on from racism at Fenway to ridiculous tales of Chase’s time in a gang. Things get slightly more serious when they touch on current events - Stephen Colbert’s recent controversial comments, Obama getting paid to speak at an investment bank, and the Republican healthcare bill. The episode wraps up with an exciting announcement…a new Comics 2 Cure show! The fellas are bringing in Dean Delray from LA to headline at Nick’s Comedy Stop in Boston on June 29th. Tickets will go on sale soon.  And don’t worry, they are working on rescheduling Ashy Larry (aka, Donnell Rawlings). If you want more gang warfare stories from Chase, just write into the show - RSBpodcast@gmail.com

May 3, 2017

The guys start off the episode talking about how Randy tries not to be excitable - taking good news or bad news with an even temper. They move on to talk about their time as college students and Chase gets into the creative ways he made extra money. Chase and Randy get into a long talk about how they’ve grow since their college days - their previous questionable fashion choices and how they put getting drunk in public behind them (for the most part). Are they getting old and boring or have they just done it all before? Chase wraps up the show by asking Randy about his experience doing stand-up comedy thus far and how he is progressing. Randy lets Chase know why he won't call himself a "comic" yet

NYC based comic Tamer Kattan (www.tamerkattan.com) joins Randy and Chase as their very first guest on a special episode of the RSB Podcast. The boys open the show talking about crooked televangelists, which morphs into a long discussion about their views on religion and faith. They move on to talk about the presidency and why citizens who were not born on U.S. soil can’t run for the office. Chase starts a conversation on the importance of spending time alone...but how much time alone is too much? The guys come to the conclusion that we all need to make time for relationships that are important to us. A fellow comedian from NYC calls Chase during the show so that had to be edited out (sorry for the weird cut in). Chase and Randy finish up the show talking about how when they were kids, they used to go over friend's houses and eat all their food.

The fellas open the show with another big loss (Charlie Murphy)…we are losing the all the greats these days. They talk about how white people keep things on time…but black people bring the fun to life. Randy and Chase go on to talk about giving and receiving help and how that builds relationships. They follow that up with a convo about its a waste to give more money to rich colleges. Randy goes off on his nosey neighbor. The guys finish up talking about winning a fight with words and not fists

Randy and Chase taped the podcast late this week because Randy couldn’t figure out an instruction manual. This leads to the guys getting into a whole discussion about taking on a job you don’t actually enjoy doing. Randy reveals his discomfort with talking about his achievements in life and Chase does a great job of playing therapist for the segment.  The “cookies-n’-cream” duo move onto talk about sports - specifically, franchises moving the team to another city (sorry Oakland) and how owners can often be hypocrites in how they treat players (employees) and fans (paying customers).  The boys finish off by going over last weeks news including the GOP pushing through a bill allowing ISP to sell your personal data for profit without your permission AND not compensating you for it
